Standing Steadfast in the Word of God

My village decided that in building a family ministry, we should set aside a time each day when we would pray together. It would be a way for us to connect, even though we were miles apart, to share our trials and offer up praise, thanksgiving, worship and testimony; a way of building our family’s ministry on a solid foundation. There would be no judgement or criticism, just a safe place where we could pray together. I would often send out a written prayer to the group. It was well received and I was encouraged to make this a regular part of our daily prayer time. I have to admit that I felt safe behind the comfort of technology. I could write my prayer, prepare, edit and critique it, taking my time to make sure it was just right before I hit the send button on my phone. But, the words would often come so fast and furious that a lot of the times, my fingers just couldn’t keep up. So, I learned to let God lead me, letting the words come, unhindered and imperfect, just like me.

This page is designed to simply document those prayers. As you read the words, praying aloud or silently, personalize them, meditate on them, but most of all be blessed by them.

May God Bless you and keep you.

Prayerfully,

Cheryl

Perpetual prayer

So, I learned to let God lead me, letting the words come, unhindered and perfectly flawed, just like me. Sometimes we don’t know how to pray or what to say, oftentimes thinking that we might say the wrong thing and offend those that seemed to be more “skilled” at it. But He knows our hearts. We can’t hide anything from God. Just come.

This page is designed to simply document those prayers. Some of the prayers were sparked by a verse, a conversation with a loved one or sometimes just by being still. Amazing how God does that.

As you read the words, praying aloud or silently, personalize them, meditate on them, but most of all be blessed by them.

May God Bless you and keep you today and always.

Prayerfully,

Cheryl

Week 1

Father,

Thank you for the dawn of another day. Thank you for this village. Thank you for the blessings. Lord I ask that you help us to recommit our lives to to You. You said we must die daily in order for us to become new creatures. We make so many commitments and resolutions at the start of a New Year and a lot of times we even fail after a few months but the most important one we can make is to You. We shouldn’t have to fit you in to our daily lives because we would have no life without You. You are our strength and our redeemer and we are BLESSED over and above all that we could ask or think. Lord I ask You to renew our spirit , strengthen our resolve and help us to remain strong as we recommit our lives to You and according to Your purpose. Detours are REAL, Lord but we know when we are attentive to Your Will -Grace Grace Grace abounds! Continue to guide our steps. With hearts of thanksgiving we give you all the Honor and Glory and Praise. In the name of Your Son and our Savior... Amen.

Week 2

Heavenly Father

We are standing in prayer, together, today and everyday for our family. Lord we know you are in charge, the Alpha and Omega , the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. You are the Waymaker, Healer, Provider, Jehovah Jira, Author and Finisher and our hope is in You. Lord we are standing in the gap for our family. Lord you know the needs, and although we don’t always understand, we TRUST. We need You and we have faith that Your Will shall be done. We lift up our family Lord. We ask that You give us the strength to follow the path You have laid and understand that the DETOUR will give us the opportunity to strengthen our walk with You. To rejoice in You and to Worship You and to have a peace that surpasses all understanding as we follow You. Help us to be attentive and obedient children. Guide our steps and keep our hearts and minds focused on You.

With humble and grateful hearts we thank you, trust You and praise You.

In Jesus Name. Amen

Week 3

Father

Thank you.

We are so grateful for the riches we have in YOU. We are thankful that you supply all of our needs. When we are in the darkness, struggling to find our way out, You are the light that guides us. When we are in pain, You are there to heal us. When we are in the valley, You are our bridge over troubled waters. Lord, wherever we are, You are there. We don’t have to suffer, You’ve already done that. We don’t have to thirst or go hungry because you are the bread of LIFE. Thank you Lord.

Father there are many of our family and friends that are experiencing trials. But we know they don’t walk alone. Lord you know them by name, each of your children and I ask that this prayer circle calls each one of them by name speaking peace and comfort into their lives. We lift them up to You right now knowing and believing that with YOU all things are possible.

We give praise and honor and glory to You Lord, our strength and our Redeemer. We trust YOU and we love YOU. In Jesus Name.

Week 4

Heavenly Father,

Lord, every day is a day we are grateful for your hand on our lives. You wake us up, and you give us shelter in the storms that plague us daily. Storms will eventually become calm waters when we Trust You. Lord we worship You in praise and prayer and song. We love You Lord. We want to honor You. We want to hearken our hearts to hear You when You speak. We want to be willing participants, ready to serve You and help build your amazing Kingdom. We want to be ready Lord when we are called and so we stand humbled that You gave Your life for ours. Father, help us to be ready, fill us with Your Holy Spirit. Fill us to overflowing. Fill us, anoint us, shower us in Your Agape Love. We want to be a shining example of what Faith and Trust and Hope and Peace will give when we honor You in Word and Deed. Strengthen this ministry against all temptations, we bind all evil in the Name of Jesus. There is Victory in that Name. We want to remain faithful only to You Father, Thank you.

Let no outside influences cloud our vision and may we stayed fixed on You, now and forever. In the Name of Your Son, our Savior, the living Word and Lamb of God whose blood was shed so that we may have life...in Jesus Name.

Week 5

“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:1‬ ‭NLT

How great thou art and we come to You, Lord, bowed down in submission. Lord there is none like You. You are worthy, the Lamb of God and we worship You. We love You, we thank You we honor You, we praise You, we glorify You, we magnify Your Name. We lift our hands and open our mouths to bless Your Name because You are worthy Lord. Thank You, Thank You

Thank You, we wait on You Lord. Guide our steps, Lord, guide our tongues, guide our hearts and minds. We worship You...

Week 6

Love the LORD, all you godly ones! For the LORD protects those who are loyal to him, but he harshly punishes the arrogant. So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the LORD!” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭31:23-24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Lord thank you for this day. We have been blessed to see the another sunshine, and all the other works of Your hands. Lord, when we put our hope in You, your word says to be strong and courageous. Your Word also says you will protect those who are loyal to you and punish the arrogant. Lord forgive us when we exhibit arrogance. Something we get caught up in this life and we often require discipline. We humbly accept Your discipline which is out of Love and compassion and we graciously ask for Your forgiveness. We know You love us Lord and we thank You. Lord we come to You when our cups are empty and you fill them to overflowing with strength and courage and any other need that we may have. When our needs are met, our wants no longer exist and our burden is made lighter. Your love knows no bounds, thank you Lord.

We are grateful that we have life in You and through You all things are possible.

In Jesus Name. AMEN

Week 7

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for peace. There are times when we falter in our humanity, but we are thankful that You are a forgiving God. You are our Peacegiver when everything seems to be spinning out of control. You are our Waymaker when we can't seem to find our way. You are our Joy River calming the storm when the waters of humanity are churning out of control. You are our ever present help when we need Your hand on our lives. We always need You. We always want You, we always praise You, in the loud times, in the busy times in the quiet times, in all the chaos that we often inflict on ourselves, in the good times and the bad times. You didn't promise us a life free from pain. But we are thankful You are with us, morning, noon and night,  thankful that we can seek refuge and protection in Your comforting arms.

We bless you Lord. We praise You for Your goodness and faithfulness, thankful that your mercy is everlasting. We ask that You keep us and all the families represented. Lord, You know the needs, spoken and unspoken, you see the scars, visible and invisible and we trust that Your Will shall be done as you guide us. In Jesus Name. AMEN.

Week 8

No one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced, but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭25:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Father we come to you in worship and in prayer, thankful for all you’ve done in our lives. We come to you with open hearts and minds, grateful for your sacrifice. Lord we never want to disgrace You. We know that if we intentionally set out to harm someone with our words or actions, we—— Lord forgive us for that act of disgrace. Forgive us for the betrayal. Forgive us for the lack of trust. Forgive us for the sins we commit Lord because it heeds our ability to worship you completely - in spirit and in truth. Lord we want our actions to be pleasing in your sight. We want our words to be uplifting to those who may hear them. We want our testimony-our life-our story, our detour, our struggles to be a beacon of light and hope for those that don’t know you. We can’t do that or be that light if what we say or do lacks GRACE which dishonors You.
Lord thank you for your unconditional love, thank you that you love us when we are unworthy and unlovable. We lift our hands and hearts and minds up to you, clear of earthly distractions, humbly asking that You keep our families from all harm, physical and emotional.
Thank You, we trust you and may we continue to honor you with clean hearts. In Jesus Name. AMEN.

Week 9

“He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Lord thank you for waking me up. I thank you for life and health and strength. I thank you for supplying all my needs.

I thank you for my family. Lord we may have differences, disagreements, arguments and may even be rejected and despised by those that profess their love for us. But Lord remind us not to judge too quickly or too harshly because they may have their own pain. They may have their own hurts at being despised and rejected. We must comfort each other through all of our pains and hurts and disagreements and arguments coming out on the other side more compassionate and loving and understanding and more discerning about what another person may be going through. Lord you didn’t turn your back on us when we despised and rejected You. Your disciples were liars and cheats and thieves giving You every reason to turn away and not care about them. Thank God You didn’t. Forgive us our iniquities, Father and may we be reminded every day that You are our lifeline. Thank you for all that you are and all that you do in my life and the lives of all your children. In Jesus Name.

Week 10

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” ‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He has already paid the cost. How will you show your gratitude for being given another day?

Lord I thank you for your blessings. Lord when I think of your stripes- each time you were struck, each time you were ridiculed and cursed and spat upon, I am reminded of each drop of your blood that was shed for me. I cannot imagine the pain you endured on my behalf and anything less than gratefulness, love and worship and praise and honor and glory, faith and trust and complete submission to Your Will for my life would be an inadequate way of showing my humility for all you’ve done for me. Lord,  born into sin and being sinful every day of my life means I fall short. But your Grace and Love and Mercy means that I can be washed clean because of the blood you shed for me. I must die daily to have a new life with You. Lord forgive me my transgressions. Forgive me when I act unworthily. Forgive me for not showing forgiveness for others. As I reflect upon Resurrection Day I pray for those that don’t know You. Open their minds and hearts so that they may receive your gift of Eternal Life now and forever. In the name of the Risen Savior and Spotless Lamb of God, Jesus Christ.

AMEN.

Week 11

“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” Romans 8:11 NLT

Father where two or more are gathered in Your name we know You are in the midst. We are reminded of Your Birth, Death and Resurrection and we want to honor You by being humbly obedient to You. Lord we don't want to wander aimlessly in the desert, or valleys or darkness looking for You - victims of our own disobedience -  because You are the Light. Thank you Lord for being our light in the darkness. May we learn to follow You without hesitation knowing the path You laid has already been determined through the shedding of Your blood on the cross. We Love You and Praise You and trust You and may Your will be done now and forever. In Jesus Name.

Week 12

“We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but he is ready to hear those who worship him and do his will.” ‭‭John‬ ‭9:31‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Father God we come together to worship You.

We humbly ask that you forgive us our sins Lord.

Forgive us our trespasses. Lord we want Your Will to be done in our lives. Father give ear to our prayers of repentance, of help, of pain, of suffering, of heartache, of trouble, of darkness and of sin. We fall short of perfection but in You we have relief for our pain and suffering and heartache and trouble and darkness and sin. Father, Creator of life, create in us a clean heart so that we may worship You in spirit and in truth. Give ear to our petitions Lord for we want to live a life that is pleasing to You. We give all we have over to You, may we continue to be good stewards and faithful servants and may our lives serve as a beacon of light to those who don't know you. In Jesus Name.

Week 13

“Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God. I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭11:22-23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Lord thank you for this day.

Lord Your Word says faith can move mountains. Your Word says we must be not afraid, Your word says believe in our hearts and without a doubt, all things are possible. Lord I believe. I believe that my faith which may be but the size of a mustard seed is sufficient to move obstacles as small as a that mustard seed or as big as that mountain because when we plant that seed on fertile soil, feed it, water it, tend to it and nurture it with loving kindness, it will take root firmly and deeply and will not be washed away when the floods come. It may seem like it can't survive in the turmoil of a heavy downpour but the plant will grow and flourish and be stronger. It will endure. Lord I will endure- the torrential rains, the floods, the winds and the storms. I will endure because I have faith. I will persevere because I have survived many a storm and my Faith shall sustain me through all that is to come. Thank you for Faith, Grace, Mercy and your unconditional Love and may I always be blessed.  Bless Your Holy Name. AMEN

Week 14

Lord we are so blessed. You are our Comforter, our Healer, our Provider, our Waymaker, Peacegiver, our Rock, our ever present Help. We come to You with our hands raised and our eyes lifted up in obedience to You because You are worthy to be praised. Lord we stray and You still love us, we fall down and You still pick us up, we sin and You still forgive us. Lord we are incomplete and imperfect without You. We come to You with all our baggage, and You mold us, shape us, refine us and wash away all our sins and make us new creatures in Christ. Thank you Father that you never forsake us. Thank You father that in You, we are made whole. Thank You Father that there is Hope in You, thank You Father that there is life more abundant in You. Thank You Father that You are who You say You are and You will do what You say You will do. Thank You Father form keeping us when we don't know how to keep ourselves. Thank You... In Jesus Name. AMEN

 Week 15

Lord we come to You grateful for this day and Your many blessings. Lord sometimes our spirits are crushed, and our hearts are broken. We sometimes feel that there is no way out of the valleys that we may find ourselves in at any given moment. But Lord there is strength, power and majesty in You. We are in the valleys for reasons that may not always seem clear to us but we know Your plan is perfect. We know that our Destiny has been predetermined and preordained and all that we go through and everything we experience is to bring us closer to You and to build Your beautiful Kingdom. Our experiences are meant to prepare us for something greater. So Father, we put our trust in You, we put our lives in Your hands and we accept the experiences as part of the plan to bring us closer to You. We meditate on Your Word day and night so as not to give the devil a foothold. We need You, Lord. This world is in turmoil and we ask that you keep us and our families safe through all the trials and tribulations Lord. We can't make it without You. We find comfort in knowing that You dwell in our midst and we thank you, thank you for all that You've done and all You will continue to do for those that love You and keep your commandments. We Honor and Praise You. In Jesus Name...AMEN.

Week 16

Father God

Thank you. I just want to Thank You.

Thank you for the pain. Thank you for the suffering. Thank you for the shackles and persecution. Thank you for the loss, the struggles, the difficult times, the despair and darkness. Lord we are on the path You have laid because you are building us up. You are shaping our character, molding us, preparing us for something greater and for that Lord we thank you. We don't understand but we Trust in the plan and purpose you have for our lives. There is no One greater, no light brighter and no journey more compelling, and we are on this path because have a destiny that You are leading us to. We want to be serious and committed believers, ready to embrace the detours that are sure to come. I pray that we remain prepared, steadfast and faithful throughout this journey, however long it may be to be the children of God You have destined us to become. Lord we asked for your continued protection for each and every member of this ministry and the families represented. Cover us all Lord with your impenetrable hedge of protection. We trust You, love and praise your Name, giving You all the honor and glory for everything You have blessed us with. In Jesus Name...Amen.

Week 17

Lord this is the day that You have made. Father thank you for another day. Lord we come to You to give You what we know we should-everything. Every thing we are, every thing we have, every thing we need, every thing we experience, every trial we endure, every smile we put on our face and every tear we've ever shed, Lord is all Yours. You give us a life to be in service to You and we want to honor You by being a living Testimony, grateful grateful grateful for EveryThing. We fall short and we fall down but Your love for us is so amazing that no matter what, You accept us back into the family without reservation because our name has been written in the Book. That doesn't mean that we are not accountable for what we do and Father forgive me when that doesn't line up with Your plans for my life. We struggle daily, we die daily only to be born again under Your mighty power, strength and grace.

So, we pick up our cross Father God and present our petitions and leave them at the foot of the cross of Your precious Son, our Savior. Thank you for the freedom we have to Thank You, to worship You and to praise You and may we never take that privilege for granted. Thank you Lord and may You bless each member of this ministry and each family member it represents. We ask that Your Angels continue to keep a watchful eye, in Jesus Name...

Week 18

I heard a message on a Christian radio broadcast that every thorn is a gift. A GIFT? Why would God give me something like this?

Because He is trying to show you something...some new, something beautiful and something that will take you beyond your idea of what is  "Normal". It's a necessary part of the revelation. Something new and unique. A new and exciting revelation to expand your territory.

But because it may have been delivered or disguised as something else, we may not recognize it for what it is....a beautiful rose.

Father, thank you for the thorns. Thank you for the moments that make me uncomfortable. Lord when when I am in the midst of the "comfortableness" my reaction is one of "ungratefulness" because all I can think about is my pain. Forgive me. Forgive me for my lack of understanding that the thorns are a gift.

Father I  pray and I ask for things and I never expect the thing that you would give me would be so prickly and as painful as a thorn. Lord thank you for the thorns. I  know in my heart -in the deepest part of me -that You only mean good for me and I ask that You remind me that when I am stuck in a thicket full of thorns -hurting and crying out to You that You ARE there to remove them with loving care in Your time and for Your Glory. Thank you Lord for this day and Your message and the messenger on the radio broadcast who so tenderly reminded me of the wonderful way You Love me. May I continue to be the recipient of thorns that are meant to be a blessing. In Jesus Name... AMEN.

Week 19

Father God

Lord of all creation. I am thankful, grateful that You gave me another day. Thank you for my eyes and hands and feet and heart and job and food and home and car and voice and all the blessings you have bestowed on me each and every second since I awoke. Lord this world is spiraling into a pit of despair where entitlement are more the norm than accountability and responsibility. Sin has no boundaries and it seems as if everywhere we turn there is confusion and pain and suffering. The battle is real but we claim Victory in You. Lord keep us. Lord protect us. You know the needs of our family members and friends that are struggling, hurting and weary, touch them Lord. We ask for your forgiveness Lord. We are so easily distracted that we forget we are only here by your Grace and mercy and sacrifice. We want to be better stewards, better living testimonies so that all we come in contact with will want to know You. Lord keep us on the path that will strengthen our walk with You. Let this Ministry be a beacon of light to be used for Your Glory and may we continue to be willing servants, ready to do Your will. We thank you Lord and we ask that you keep us from all earthly harm. In Jesus Name. AMEN.
